A slow internet connection or patchy mobile coverage can make it difficult to run a business.

Faster broadband is coming to more than 180 Victorian suburbs and towns – with 150 of these in regional Victoria – as announced in October 2022. Find out more.

The upgrades will speed up tasks like processing payments through EFTPOS, using cloud-based software such as Xero or MYOB, or sharing information. It will also help businesses looking to expand internationally, using the internet to expand their networks and reach customers across the globe.

We’re also funding new and upgraded mobile telecommunications infrastructure at more than 1,000 sites across the state. This investment will deliver better mobile services where they are most needed.

In regional Victoria and outer suburban Melbourne, better broadband and mobile coverage will open a range of opportunities for growth, including through access to new markets and suppliers.
