Professional boxing and combat sports in Victoria are regulated under the Professional Boxing and Combat Sports Act 1985, the Professional Boxing and Combat Sports Regulations 2018 and rules made by the Professional Boxing and Combat Sports Board to promote safety, uphold integrity and reduce the risk of malpractice.
In Victoria, persons engaging or participating in professional boxing and combat sports, including amateur MMA, corporate and exhibition bouts, must be licensed or registered and contests and exhibitions must be held in accordance with the conditions of a permit granted.
