Victoria will be the only jurisdiction in the world with both Moderna and BioNTech — the world’s two leading mRNA innovators —operating mRNA manufacturing facilities.

Moderna is constructing a new population-scale mRNA vaccine manufacturing facility in Clayton, capable of producing 100 million vaccine doses per year.

BioNTech is construction their clinical manufacturing facility, at La Trobe University, which will produce next generation mRNA vaccines and medicines for clinical trials and support research-grade RNA materials to the local ecosystem.
