International partnerships
To grow international collaboration, investment, research and export opportunities for our mRNA ecosystem, the Victorian Government through mRNA Victoria has signed a series of collaboration agreements with international jurisdictions.
These agreements accelerate collaboration across all aspects of the mRNA lifecycle, including research, manufacturing, clinical trials, and workforce training.
The agreements give researchers within Victoria and in partner jurisdictions the opportunity to collaborate on shared projects, including joint research projects and clinical trials of new mRNA vaccines and therapies.
mRNA Victoria has to date signed agreements with:
- The Government of Korea through the Korean Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) to formalise collaboration on mRNA vaccine research and development, clinical trials, and manufacturing.
- The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi to progress joint RNA research and facilitate investment in building manufacturing capability.
- The South African Medical Research Council and Afrigen Biologics & Vaccines to fast track international collaboration on encapsulation and delivery technology to reduce the cost of manufacturing RNA, workforce training exchange programs and Research and Development into novel RNA vaccines and therapies for diseases of interest.
