Our investment is supporting growth across Victoria’s tourism sector. These programs are helping to attract more visitors, create more jobs for Victorians and create a legacy that will benefit all Victorians.

Regional Tourism Investment Fund

The Regional Tourism Investment Fund 2024 supports new and innovative tourism infrastructure projects in regional and rural Victoria to support more visitors to explore our state, improve the quality of their experiences and increase visitors’ length of stay. Grants of up to $5 million per project were available with a minimum funding amount of $100,000 per project. The grants were delivered through 3 streams:

  • small-scale projects
  • large-scale projects
  • accommodation uplift.

They focus on the 5 product priorities in Experience Victoria 2033:

  • First Peoples-led experiences
  • wellness
  • arts and culture
  • food and drink
  • nature.

Enabling Tourism Fund

The Enabling Tourism Fund 2024 supports regional and rural Victorian tourism projects to reach investment-ready status by funding planning activities such as feasibility studies and design for future investment.

This fund helps to deliver a strong pipeline of demand-driving tourism infrastructure projects across Victoria.

The fund was delivered via 2 grant streams:

  • Stream 1 - Testing the concept: between $20,000 and $500,000 for a project to test the concept of a new infrastructure project.
  • Stream 2 - Preparing for investment: between $20,000 and $500,000 to prepare a combination of materials to ensure that a project is ready for infrastructure investment.

Regional Business Events Program

The Regional Business Events Program supports event organisers looking to host new business events and international incentives in regional Victoria.

The program is delivered by Business Events Victoria in partnership with Melbourne Convention Bureau. In 2024-25, it has helped to bring over 25 new business events and international incentives to regional Victoria across 3 funding streams.

Regional Events Fund

The Regional Events Fund supports events that bring thousands of visitors to regional Victoria, delivering economic impact, creating jobs, and supporting local businesses.

The program is delivered by Visit Victoria and has supported over 65 events and festivals in 2024-25, across music, arts, culture, food and drink and sport.

First Peoples Tourism Industry Strengthening Program

The First Peoples Tourism Industry Strengthening program supports Victoria’s Registered Aboriginal Parties to engage in tourism-related economic development activities.

The program was developed in response to community engagement sessions conducted throughout 2024. It forms part of a $10 million investment into Cultural Tourism Initiatives through the Aboriginal Economic Development Fund.

Visitor Servicing Fund

The Visitor Servicing Fund supports the Victorian tourism industry’s work to encourage people to stay longer and spend more across the state.

The Fund is being delivered in two grant streams:

  • Stream A: up to $50,000 for creating or updating visitor servicing strategies
  • Stream B: between $50,001 and $625,000 to support the delivery of major visitor servicing projects.

Regional Tourism Industry Development Program

The Regional Tourism Industry Development Program is supporting regional tourism businesses to grow, thrive and meet modern visitor expectations.

Through this program, we are funding:

  • The Regional Tourism Network Industry Strengthening Program, which provides funding of up to $200,000 to each of Victoria’s Visitor Economy Partnerships and Regional Tourism Boards to deliver industry strengthening training programs and support for regional tourism businesses.
  • The Victorian Tourism Summit, held from 22-24 July 2025 in Shepparton. For details, see Victorian Tourism Summit.
  • The Young Tourism Network, to deliver a range of programs and events for emerging visitor economy professionals, including the Emerging Tourism Leaders Summit on 2 September 2025. For details, see Young Tourism Network.
  • The Choose Tourism Careers Expo on 2 September 2025. This expo will showcase career pathways in the tourism, events and hospitality sectors.
