CarbonNet
The CarbonNet Project offers world-class CO₂ storage capacity which can help governments meet ambitious climate targets, give industries the certainty to decarbonise, and unlock new investment opportunities in the clean economy.
Safe, proven, and scalable, the Project enables a transition to a net zero future.
The project’s objective is to enable large-scale emissions reduction through two permitted world-class geological storage sites in the Gippsland Basin, Pelican and Kookaburra. Together these sites have capacity to store over 350 million tonnes of CO₂. Established in 2009, the Project is funded by the Australian and Victorian governments.
