SummerTech LIVE
Overview
SummerTech LIVE is a program bridging the digital skills gap for businesses and giving students and recent graduates invaluable on-the-job experience. The program offers participants a $5,000 studentship for 10 to 12 weeks over the summer break and there is no cost to businesses.
Besides helping students gain vital professional skills and build their career networks, SummerTech LIVE is also increasing the competitiveness of Victorian small to medium-sized businesses by accelerating the uptake of technology and innovation.
This year, the program is increasing the number of cyber-related projects, building a pipeline of cyber talent and responding to an identified skills gap in the Victorian Government’s Cyber Strategy. Other projects areas include, AI and machine learning, web development, software engineering, programming, data analytics, app development, and augmented and virtual reality.
Since it started in 2017, SummerTech LIVE has placed more than 500 students with almost 300 businesses. It is being delivered on behalf of government by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
