The awards recognise the extraordinary work of Victoria’s emerging leaders in health and medical research.

  • Dr Karyn Ferguson, Aboriginal Researcher Award
  • Dr Ebony Monson, Basic Science Researcher Award
  • Dr Catherine Jan, Health Services Researcher Award
  • Dr Hannah Jarman, Public Health Researcher Award.

These exceptional early-career researchers are expanding what is possible in healthcare and shaping the future of our world-class medical research sector.

The groundbreaking work of this year’s finalists and award winners spans fields including:

  • virology
  • maternal and child health within Aboriginal communities
  • advances in treating orthopaedic injuries
  • using AI to detect glaucoma
  • the impact of social media on body image and eating disorders.
