2025-26 Victorian State Budget released

The Victorian Government released the 2025-26 State Budget today. DJSIR has received funding to continue delivering impactful work that drives the Victorian economy and shapes our vibrant state.
Key budget outcomes for DJSIR include:
- $150 million for the Victorian Investment Fund to boost business investment and expand priority sectors across the state, creating jobs and opportunities, and cementing Victoria as the place to do business. The fund will include a $50 million regional stream.
- $34.9 million for the Boosting Victorian Exports Package to help more small and medium-sized businesses take their products to global markets, identify new markets and diversify their customer base.
- $5.3 million over 4 years to support Victoria’s defence and aerospace sector to grow and help Victorian businesses create new jobs in advanced manufacturing.
- $459.3 million for Skills and Training to continue building a connected, world-class training system to deliver the essential skills and specialist trades needed for our industries and economy to grow.
- $4.9 million to continue our tailored support through the Business Victoria digital channels, our Small Business Toolkits program and the Small Business Bus.
- $5 million over 2 years for tailored employment initiatives for Victorians who need them most.
- $552 million over 5 years for the creative industries, including a significant investment in our creative agencies, support for the UNESCO-listed Royal Exhibition Building, and investments in the screen industry and First Peoples creative sector.
- $20.3 million over 2 years to continue support for community sport and active recreation programs that address key barriers to participation, including new investment in the popular Get Active Kids voucher program.
- $20 million to support the development of high-quality, accessible community sports infrastructure across the state including through the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
- $7.5 million over 2 years provided to the Melbourne Convention Bureau, Business Events Victoria and the Business Events Fund to attract business events to Victoria.
- $11 million to open and operate the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.
- $4 million over 4 years to support the Victorian Government’s commitment to place-based partnerships, ensuring regional communities continue to thrive.
- $5.2 million to extend Go Fishing Victoria to continue stocking Victorian waterways and to support the expanded Arcadia and Snobs Creek hatcheries.
