The hub offers fresh attractions and activities to draw more visitors to Victoria’s spectacular Alpine region. From snow days to sunny skies, the Hotham Hub is built for adventure all year round and offers:

  • equipment rental so that visitors can rent all the right snow gear
  • a new amphitheatre to set the stage for live entertainment
  • a semi-covered patio is the perfect spot to catch all the action on the slopes
  • food and drink options to grab a warm drink and a bite to eat between runs
  • a cosy area with heated floors to catch up with friends
  • visitor information, and
  • public toilets.

The project created up to 28 jobs during construction, and 8 ongoing positions now that the hub is open.

In winter, the hub has everything for some alpine fun. From beginner skiing lessons to snowmobile rides, snowshoe adventures, dog sledding, and even snow glamping in the geodome.

In summer, the hub comes alive with green-season adventures. It offers easy access to hiking and biking trails, tours and equipment rental, and access to a calendar of concerts, events and community gatherings.

Victoria is famous for its Alpine region in Victoria’s high country. Last year, more than 4.7 million visitors spent almost $2 billion in the region and stayed more than 7.5 million nights. Research from Alpine Resorts Victoria estimates that alpine resorts contribute more than $2 billion annually to the Victorian economy.

The project was supported by a $4.5 million investment through the Regional Tourism Investment Fund. It was delivered by Alpine Resorts Victoria who contributed $250,000 to the project, with a further $2.5 million investment from the Australian Government.
