Local startup Bodd has opened its new headquarters in Prahran. The larger facility has research labs and workspaces to continue to improve the company’s innovative technology.

The company’s 3D scanner captures personalised body measurements. The groundbreaking technology captures more data in 60 seconds than any other product globally. This helps tackle waste caused by alterations and returns on ill-fitting clothes.

This is highly valuable to Bodd’s customers including the Australian Institute of Sport, Australian Defence Apparel, the New Zealand Defence Force and uniform manufacturer Stewart & Heaton. The company also works with the airline and policing industries.

Today the company operates in more than 30 markets and the increased capability at the new HQ will support Bodd’s growth into new markets.

Bodd have partnered with Bosch to manufacture and distribute its hardware units.

The patented technology is the result of 5 years of research with RMIT and Swinburne. It’s another example of great Victorian research becoming a worldwide commercial success.

The Victorian Industry Policy and the $150 million Victorian Investment Fund are helping to grow the state’s industrial base.
