Castlemaine welcomes world-class health and learning hub
Bendigo TAFE’s new Learning Hub is now open. It is providing world-class healthcare training in Castlemaine.
Bendigo TAFE partnered with local service provider Dhelkaya Health to create the hub. It is located in a newly renovated wing of a hospital owned by Dhelkaya Health.
The hub will provide practical training in:
- allied health
- nursing
- aged care.
The facility includes learning spaces for nursing, aged care and homecare. TAFE students can train with specialist equipment that simulates real-world healthcare settings. There is room to accommodate up to 60 students at a time.
Dhelkaya Health will use the space to deliver training development for staff in the graduate nurse program and the Monash University GP program.
The hub enables students in regional Victoria to gain healthcare skills that are in high demand. Thanks to the partnership with Dhelkaya Health they can also access local work placements and jobs.
We provided $4 million in funding to create the hub. It is a fantastic example of government, industry and TAFE working together to bring essential training and job opportunities to Victoria’s regions.
