We’re backing world-leading battery energy storage company Fluence to expand its Australian headquarters in Victoria.

These expanded headquarters will:

  • create up to 100 highly-skilled jobs
  • boost the local cleantech ecosystem.

‘Cleantech’ is technology that uses renewable materials and energy sources to reduce or eliminate emissions and waste.

Fluence’s expansion will:

  • amplify Victoria’s renewable energy capabilities
  • develop our local pipeline of skilled workers
  • boost local supply chains.

It will also support our ambitious energy target of 95% renewable by 2035.

Established in 2018, Fluence Energy is a joint venture between German manufacturing and technology company Siemens and US electric power generation and distribution firm Applied Energy Services (AES).

The company is a global leader in grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) and innovative technology to power the clean energy future.

Fluence’s decision to grow its footprint in our state underlines our reputation as an international investment destination for renewable energy and cleantech.

Attracting investment from companies such as Fluence is a a key pillar of the Victorian Government’s Economic Growth Statement.
