Creating more digital career opportunities for Victorians
We’re helping Victorians gain the skills, confidence and opportunity to have a job in the digital economy.
We are doing this by bringing industry, TAFEs and the adult and community education (ACE) sector together to sign the Victorian Digital Skills Compact.
The compact is a shared vision and commitment to help people to get the digital skills they need to thrive at work.
It will also open doors into digital careers for more people.
Industry has agreed to look for ways to hire more people in entry-level jobs from a broader range of pathways. That means more work opportunities for TAFE and Free TAFE graduates
More than 17,000 Victorians have used Free TAFE to grow their digital skills since 2019. One of our most popular Free TAFE courses is the Certificate III in IT.
Industry, TAFEs and the ACE sector will also work together to make sure teaching aligns with current and future job needs.
By 2035, Victoria will need 87,700 more digital workers. Workers in all sectors will also need strong digital skills.
This agreement is one of the ways we are making sure our skilled workforce is ready for the digital and artificial intelligence (AI) jobs of the future.
As outlined in our AI Mission Statement, we are supporting all Victorians to understand, use and benefit from AI.
