A year on from the launch of Experience Victoria 2033 (EV33), the state’s tourism sector is using the strategy to capitalise on the momentum Victoria is currently enjoying as Australia’s fastest growing visitor economy.

The roadmap is guiding the Victorian Government’s work – in partnership with tourism industry bodies, businesses and operators – to ensure Victoria maximises growth opportunities in its $39.3 billion visitor economy.

Since EV33 was published, it has empowered more information sharing in the sector through the launch of a new website, as well as the launch of the Visitor Economy Community Engagement Framework and Toolkit to help operators deliver tourism initiatives that best reflect the character of their local communities.

It’s also enabled the delivery of a new statewide Visitor Servicing Framework, and the Visitor Servicing Fund, to support the development of innovative visitor information tools that encourage people to stay longer and spend more across the state.

Experience Victoria 2033 has also helped strengthen regional Victoria’s economies with the establishment of 8 new Visitor Economy Partnerships, and delivery of the new Regional Industry Strengthening Program, part of the $170 million Regional Tourism and Events Package.

It’s also assisted the professional development of Victorian tourism sector workers by supporting the launch of a new online portal to help workers upskill across tourism, events and the hospitality sectors, and supported the delivery of the sold-out Choose Tourism Expo and Emerging Tourism Leaders Summit, as well as the Young Tourism Network leadership platform.
