It will focus on vaccine trials first, and expand to support research into more treatments including:
- rare diseases
- advanced therapies.
The network aims to expand over time to include more metropolitan and regional sites.
This is an initiative under the Economic Growth Statement. The statement identifies health technologies and medical research as a priority sector. It will help cement Victoria’s position as a leading destination for:
- investment in paediatric treatments and models of care
- better connect industry partners with clinical trials.
