High-tech global logistics facility opens in Victoria

We’ve supported leading Taiwanese information and communications technology (ICT) company Synnex to open a new purpose-built logistics facility and Oceania headquarters in Oakleigh South.

The facility will strengthen Victoria’s supply chain by delivering hardware and digital solutions. Synnex’s expansion brings $150 million in new investment to our state.

The new facility uses advanced robotics and automation for logistics and dispatch. It employs around 350 workers. Its cutting-edge technology will boost Victoria’s digital technology sector and support business growth.

Synnex’s new headquarters highlights its continued expansion and commitment to the Australian market.

Synnex Australia is the largest distributor of IT products in the Asia Pacific. It partners with over 60 vendors to deliver end-to-end solutions. This includes hardware and software to cloud services.

The new Oakleigh South facility is part of Synnex’s global network of 26 logistics centres. The network includes major facilities in Taipei and Taichung.

Synnex is adding to Victoria’s thriving digital tech sector - the fastest-growing in the nation. The sector contributes more than $36 billion to the state’s economy and supports more than 306,000 workers.

Digital technologies is a key priority sector under the Victorian Government’s Economic Growth Statement. It is driving job creation, boosting innovation and attracting investment into the state.
