From March 2026 Jetstar will launch a new service from Melbourne Avalon Airport to Denpasar, Bali and restart flights to Adelaide. The airline will also add more services on its existing Brisbane service.

This will make Avalon Victoria’s second curfew-free international airport, providing a boost to tourism and trade and providing more options for travellers to and from Victoria.

To prepare for the influx of flights, the airport will also receive major upgrades, including 1,000 new seats within the airport’s international and domestic terminals, upgrades to runway lighting, security equipment, CCTV cameras, and new water connections to the control tower.

An additional 500 car parking spaces will be added to the Airport, and in coming months the government will launch a new bus route between Lara Station and the airport precinct. This will provide affordable access for travellers and workers.

The new Route 18 will be the first public bus service for Avalon. It will connect the airport to Lara Station 7 days a week and make it easier for travellers and workers to get to and from the airport and employment precinct.

The increase in flights will provide a boost to local tourism by bringing even more visitors to Melbourne, Geelong and nearby hotspots along the Great Ocean Road.
