Funding opens for local business initiatives

Business associations and local councils across Victoria can now apply for grants of $5,000 to support local small and family businesses.

The Shop Local Business Fund will support local projects that help small and family businesses:

• build their profile
• increase trade
• develop their skills
• build business resilience.

Grant money can be used for projects such as:

• local business expos
• shop local campaigns
• online promotions
• workshops and webinars
• mental health and wellbeing initiatives.

The Shop Local Business Fund is an initiative funded through the 2026–27 Victorian Budget.

Applications are now open. Applications close at 4:00 pm on 30 September 2026, or earlier if all funds are allocated.
