Local suppliers will play a hands-on role in delivering events at the Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre.

Fifty-four local businesses from Geelong and the surrounding region will help showcase the region’s highlights to visitors from across Victoria, Australia and beyond once it opens its doors in July 2026.

From fresh produce and local wines to event equipment and warehouse support, the supplier network includes:

These suppliers are in addition to the many local tourism and hospitality businesses expected to benefit from the thousands of delegates who will visit the region to attend events at Nyaal Banyul.

Geelong Access Hire Director, Chris Carney said that being selected as a supplier to Nyaal Banyul is a significant opportunity for Geelong Access Hire.

'We are incredibly proud to be involved in such an important project for Geelong.' he said

'The revenue generated through this partnership is reinvested directly back into the local community by creating local jobs, investing in new equipment, and supporting other Geelong-based suppliers and service providers' he explained.

It’s another massive boost for Geelong and the Bellarine with the venue also hiring 41 permanent roles and 200 casual positions once operational.

The centre is already generating strong interest ahead of opening. There are more than 70 events already booked and more than 260 additional event enquiries in the pipeline.

Nyaal Banyul will feature:

  • 3,700 square metres of flexible event space
  • 1,000-seat theatre
  • cutting-edge audiovisual technology and
  • provide a major new drawcard for business events in regional Victoria.

Nyaal Banyul is being delivered in partnership by Development Victoria and the Plenary Conventions consortium, and will be operated by the Victorian Convention and Event Trust.

The project is funded through a $676 million joint investment from the Australian Government, Victorian Government and the City of Greater Geelong  to revitalise the region through critical infrastructure.
