The Reconnect program has supported more than 15,000 Victorians since 2016.

The program is for people who are not in education, employment or training. This includes:

  • people experiencing long-term unemployment
  • asylum seekers
  • young people impacted by the justice system
  • people with current or previous out-of-home care experience.

Reconnect providers offer a range of tailored supports such as:

  • counselling and mentoring
  • housing and accommodation services referral
  • mental health support referral
  • foundation skills
  • employability skills
  • education opportunities
  • careers information, planning and advice.

With this support, people can overcome barriers and get back into learning or employment.

More than 30 organisations across Victoria will continue delivering the Reconnect program from 2026 to 2029.

They include:

  • TAFEs
  • Learn Locals
  • community service organisations.

We are investing more than $48 million to extend the Reconnect program to 2029.
