Nature meets comfort at new glamping experience in Apollo Bay
Drifting off to the sound of the lapping water on the shore and waking up in glamping comfort has arrived in Apollo Bay.
Located a stone's throw from the Great Ocean Road, the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve in the Barwon South West region has been a beloved camping spot for years.
Thanks to support through the Tourism Infrastructure Flagship Program, visitors looking for something a little bit fancier can now camp in style.
20 new eco-safari tents will be ready for bookings from 9 October. They offer an authentic but comfortable camping experience.
The new glamping options include:
- 5 accessible tents with DDA-compliant bathrooms
- stunning views over the Barham River.
This project was delivered by support from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority.
The new affordable ‘glamping’ tents are part of a broader upgrade to the accommodation precinct in the Reserve. That project delivered:
- new road alignment
- civil works to improve access
- re-grassed green spaces
- upgraded park amenities.
Together, thanks to $5.15 million the Victorian Government delivered these projects.
