New Underwater Technology Innovation Centre to open in Melbourne

Navantia Australia will establish a new Asia-Pacific Underwater Technology Innovation Centre in Melbourne.

The centre will develop next-generation underwater technologies and create new opportunities for Victorian businesses to support major Australian defence programs.

We've supported the project which will create up to 30 high skilled jobs and further cement Victoria as a regional leader in naval engineering.

Navantia Australia is a leading naval shipbuilding and engineering company and delivers major projects for the Royal Australian Navy.

Victoria’s defence sector contributes around $10.9 billion to the economy each year and supports more than 29,000 workers across the state.

The project is supported through our $150 million Victorian Investment Fund, which is:

• driving economic growth
• creating jobs across the state.
