NEXTDC‘s billion-dollar digital and AI hub for Fishermans Bend
A leading Australian technology company will develop a cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital hub in Melbourne.
NEXTDC is an ASX-listed company that develops data centres, which are critical for our technology landscape. It is investing $2 billion to establish a new data centre hub next to the Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct.
The new site will include an AI Factory, Mission Critical Operations Centre and Technology Centre of Excellence. It will generate thousands of high-skilled jobs across many industries including finance, defence and health technologies.
This investment builds on the company’s existing network of established data centres across Melbourne including Port Melbourne, West Footscray and Tullamarine.
Victoria’s thriving tech sector contributes more than $34 billion to the state’s economy. It supports more than 306,000 workers – accounting for 30 per cent of Australia’s tech workforce.
