Nicolab chooses Victoria as the base for its Asia-Pacific expansion
Nicolab has opened its Australian and New Zealand headquarters and a new research and development centre in Melbourne, creating 20 high skilled jobs.
With the expansion, Nicolab will continue developing new AI tools that enable hospitals to assess and treat strokes faster and more accurately.
The expansion will:
- strengthen stroke diagnosis and treatment services
- improve patient outcomes in Victoria and around the world
- give regional and remote communities better access to specialist care.
Nicolab's StrokeViewer technology helps clinicians quickly identify serious strokes, including those caused by blocked blood vessels and bleeding in the brain.
By reducing assessment times from hours to minutes, the technology supports faster treatment decisions when every second counts.
The platform already supports around-the-clock access to specialist stroke expertise for patients in regional and rural Victorian hospitals.
Nicolab's investment in the state aligns with our AI Mission Statement, a bold vision to:
- grow the economy
- support industry
- improve public services
- ensure Victorians benefit from the opportunities created by AI.
Through the $150 million Victorian Investment Fund, the state is attracting strategic, high-value investments that create skilled jobs, accelerate innovation and drive long-term economic growth.
