Power House’s new home crosses the try line
One of Albert Park’s oldest sporting clubs is getting a new permanent pavilion thanks to support from the Albert Park Pit Building redevelopment.
Created and based in Albert Park since 1933, Power House has called the current pit building home since 2011.
The club will move into a new permanent pavilion from July 2026. It’s a major win for the proud club that has long sought a permanent space in the heart of Albert Park.
Power House shares the pit building with Middle Park Football Club and South Melbourne Women’s Football Club.
Middle Park and South Melbourne Women’s will play out of temporary facilities during the build. Both clubs will move into the new pit building once completed.
The builds will be delivered by Kinglake-based construction company Shape.
The pit building will be replaced to bring it into the 21st century as a modern venue for community sport and the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. It will include 7 indoor sport courts alongside the improved clubrooms for tenant clubs. This will ensure local sport benefits from the upgraded facilities for the long term.
Displacement works are already underway and are set to be completed in July 2026.
