Premier’s Awards for Health and Medical Research now open

Calling Victoria’s health and medical research rising stars! Applications are now open for the 2025-26 Premier’s Awards for Health and Medical Research.

Victoria is a global leader in health and medical research, home to 18 leading medical research institutes, alongside world-class universities.

These prestigious awards:

• recognise the incredible contributions of Victoria’s early-career health and medical researchers
• shine a light on the research that is making a difference.

There are 5 award categories and each winner receives $5,000 in prize money. Plus, the Premier’s Excellence Award provides an additional $15,000 to the winner, chosen from the 5 category winners.

Applications close Sunday 21 December 2025. The winners of the 2025-26 awards will be announced in 2026.

The 2025-26 Premier’s Awards for Health and Medical Research is delivered in partnership with the Australian Society for Medical Research.
