Supporting small businesses in Porepunkah and Alpine Shire local government area

We are helping small businesses in Porepunkah and the Alpine Shire local government area recover from the events of 26 August 2025.

The last 6 weeks have been a tough time for the Alpine Shire community.

To help with recovery, we’ve launched the Alpine Shire Business Support Grant Program.

Eligible small businesses can apply for a $5,000 grant to manage disruptions and get back on track.

This support is aimed at businesses that are part of the visitor economy, such as hospitality, tourism, retail and events.

The grant can help businesses:

• cover everyday business costs (e.g. rent, wages, utilities)
• get financial advice to support recovery
• adapt to local changes
• boost marketing and communications
• safeguard against future disruptions.

We're investing $2.5 million to support the region’s visitor economy and help businesses recover.
