Victoria is ready to harness AI

It’s AI Week, and Victoria’s new AI Mission Statement is coming soon.

It’s our plan to harness AI to boost our future economy and benefit all Victorians.

The first steps include delivering:

• $5.5 million for a Sustainable Data Centre Action Plan
• $8.1 million to upskill tech professionals to become AI specialists

We’re already emerging as a leading AI hub in the Asia Pacific. Melbourne's CBD is home to 188 AI companies and around 22% of all clustered AI firms in Australia – the largest concentration in Australia.

The AI Mission Statement will put Victoria at the forefront of using and adopting AI.

The statement aligns with the Victorian Government’s Economic Growth Statement and its vision to stimulate innovation and strengthen our competitive advantage across all industries, including the digital technologies sector.

AI can make a big impact on the Victorian economy, with the potential to generate up to $30 billion in Gross State Product over the next decade.

The AI Mission Statement will provide the blueprint to help Victorians adopt and benefit from AI – responsibly, inclusively and confidently.
