Victorian startup GonGlobal is developing needle-free IVF treatment

Australia has one of the world's highest rates of IVF use, with more than 113,000 treatment cycles each year. GonGlobal’s system is a breakthrough that could transform treatment for patients everywhere.
Innovation Victoria’s University Innovation Platform and RMIT each invested $500,000 in the Victorian startup GonGlobal. This is supporting the company to develop a new IVF drug delivery system called Ovulair™. This allows IVF medicines to be inhaled rather than injected.
IVF treatments can be physically and emotionally demanding. Many patients require 3 to 6 treatment cycles to have a baby, with each cycle often involving many self-administered injections.
GonGlobal’s needle-free IVF treatment provides a less invasive and easier IVF experience.
Ellen Gonda and Dr Igor Gonda founded GonGlobal in Melbourne in 2023. Their mission is to improve the IVF patient experience and treatment success rates.
Launched in July, Innovation Victoria is growing Victoria’s startup and innovation ecosystem. It helps Victorian ideas become commercial successes and supports the industries that will drive Victoria’s future economy.
Through its University Innovation Platform, Innovation Victoria is partnering with 7 Victorian universities. The platform transforms research into real-life outcomes for Victorians.
