A new plan is supporting Victoria’s $9.5 billion wine sector as it enters a new chapter.

The Victorian Wine Strategy was launched last week at Vinesmith in Melbourne’s CBD.

The strategy aims to:

  • safeguard jobs
  • strengthen regional economies
  • support the long-term growth of the state’s world-class wine industry.

Victoria boasts Australia’s the most diverse wine industry.

The state is home to 21 unique wine regions and more than 400 cellar doors, which is more than any other Australian state.

Our wine sector supports over 23,000 Victorian jobs across:

  • grape growing
  • winemaking
  • logistics
  • exports
  • tourism and events
  • hospitality
  • retail.

The Victorian Wine Strategy will ensure the industry’s benefits are felt across the supply chain, from growers and producers to retailers, restaurants and regional communities.
