Wycheproof Wetlands Precinct making a splash, boosting nature-based tourism
Wycheproof is now home to a beautiful wetlands precinct with native trees and vegetation.
It’s an immersive visitor experience within a stunning natural habitat for local wildlife.
The 70,000 m2 wetland precinct features:
- restored wetlands to support native flora and fauna
- water delivery systems
- walking trails
- picnic areas and BBQ facilities
- playground
- skate park
- pump track and
- a swimming pontoon.
Nature-based tourism continues to play a key role in activating regional Victoria’s natural assets. The precinct is expected to attract around 3,000 visitors in its first year.
The precinct positions Wycheproof as an emerging destination for travellers seeking outdoor experiences, relaxation, and connection with nature.
The wetlands connect to the Wycheproof Recreation Reserve and Caravan Park, giving more visitors more reasons to visit this gorgeous nature-based tourism destination.
