Apprentice Helpdesk passes a major milestone
The Apprentice Helpdesk is helping apprentices and trainees on their training journey.
It has supported 1,500 people since launching in June.
The helpdesk is a free phone and online service providing:
- information
- guidance
- referrals.
It helps apprentices and trainees through their training, work and personal challenges so they have a positive start to their career.
The helpdesk is available to:
- apprentices
- trainees
- parents and guardians
- employers.
The top issues the helpdesk has assisted callers with include:
- information about wages and entitlements
- government support
- questions about their training contract
- employment and job search guidance.
The helpdesk is one of a range of services we provide. Other initiatives to help apprentices and trainees include the:
The Apprentice Support Officer program supports apprentices across the state. It has supported more than 169,100 apprentices since it began.
The Apprentice Employee Assistance Program provides free, short term counselling and coaching support for apprentices and trainees. Support is available for a range of health and wellbeing matters including:
- mental health
- personal issues
- difficult workplace situations
- financial concerns.
We introduced these programs for apprentices and trainees to improve:
- support
- safety
- fairness.
The Apprentice Helpdesk is available from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
