Bendigo Stadium upgrades unveiled
Bendigo Stadium’s $27 million upgrade is now complete, and it’s delivering benefits beyond the court.
For Bendigo, it means an even better venue that will help attract more major events, players, spectators and visitors to the region.
In a boost for the region’s economy, the upgrade supported more than 350 local jobs and 18 local businesses.
Head contractor Fairbrother also kept 85 per cent of spending locally while backing the next generation of workers.
The upgrades are part of a new addition to the venue, which includes:
- 2 new indoor sports courts for basketball, netball, volleyball and other indoor sports
- 500 lux LED lighting and new scoreboards
- fully accessible amenities and changing places facility
- a dedicated entrance connected to the existing stadium
- Dja Dja Wurrung artwork developed in partnership with DJAARA (Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation)
Bendigo Stadium is a hub for community sport and home to the Bendigo Spirit, Bendigo Braves and Bendigo Strikers.
Development Victoria delivered the project on behalf of Sport and Recreation Victoria. The project was delivered in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Stadium Limited.
Fairbrother Pty Ltd, a builder based in regional Victoria, built the project. City Collective designed it.
These upgrades are funded through our Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.
