Melbourne has once again proven itself as the sporting capital of the world. Attendance records were smashed for the fifth year in a row with 483,934 flocking to Albert Park.

After an exhilarating 4 days of motorsport, Mercedes driver George Russell took out the checkered flag in a thrilling finish ahead of teammate Kimi Antonelli with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc rounding out the podium.

Raceday wasn’t overshadowed by the unfortunate early exit of hometown hero Oscar Piastri who will be keen to atone at Albert Park next year.

Over the course of 4 action-packed days, the Grand Prix’s global appeal shone on the world stage, demonstrating its significance as one of the largest pop-up sporting events in the southern hemisphere.

Melbourne’s accommodation and hospitality sector also felt the massive boost. According to STR, hotel occupancy peaked at around 93% on Saturday.

With the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix secured in Melbourne until at least 2037, there's plenty more heart-stopping racing action to look forward to.
