New training facility opens on Chisholm Institute Frankston campus
A new state-of-the-art learning hub has officially opened at Chisholm Institute in Frankston.
More than 2,000 extra students will study at the Frankston campus each year thanks to the new building.
The modern facilities include learning spaces that simulate industry workplaces, which will help students to be ready for in-demand jobs. The extra space and new facilities will support the delivery of courses that meet growing industry needs. This includes Free TAFE courses like:
- Diploma of Community Services
- Certificate IV in Mental Health
- Certificate IV in Youth Work
- Certificate IV in Cyber Security.
The facility is the second stage of a $151.1 million redevelopment of the Frankston campus and replaces two of its oldest buildings. It integrates with the Frankston Learning and Innovation Precinct, which opened in 2019.
The Victorian Government invested $67.6 million to build the new facility. It is one of many projects delivered as part of the Building Better TAFE Fund.
The Fund is also investing in:
- new TAFE campuses in Melton and Sunbury
- a Community Health and Learning Hub at Bendigo TAFE in Castlemaine and
- a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion in Disability, Health and Community Support at The Gordon in Geelong.
TAFE is at the heart of Victoria’s vocational training system. The Victorian Government is investing in TAFEs to ensure all Victorians have access to the best facilities, closer to home.
