Upgraded hub for Victoria's international students
International students are being supported to accomplish their study goals and reach their full potential through the newly renovated Study Melbourne Hub, which has just re-opened in the heart of the city.
The refurbished Hub in Hardware Lane provides free and confidential assistance to all international students across Victoria.
Situated among Melbourne’s famous laneway cafes, the Hub features an expanded study area, a new wellbeing space and upgraded consultation rooms for students to talk confidentially with case workers. The upgrade was supported by the Victorian Government’s Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund.
The Hub’s new look and feel creates a comfortable and welcoming space for Victoria’s thriving international student community.
An original mural artwork by Gunditjmara, Wemba Wemba and Yorta Yorta artist Tommy Day III called Yarkeen (Dreaming) will greet visitors as they enter. The work includes a reflection of Country with representations of the movement and connection of people, language and the Birrarung (Yarra) River.
This year, Melbourne retained the title of Australia’s best student city by global higher education ranking specialist Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). International students support Victoria’s world-class reputation for research and innovation, generating $14.8 billion in revenue last year and supporting more than 63,000 jobs across the state.
