Cremorne Digital Hub boosts Victoria’s global tech status

The Victorian Government-backed Cremorne Digital Hub is entering its next phase of development, bolstering Victoria’s reputation as a leader in tech and helping to attract local and international investors to the thriving digital ecosystem.

Yellow umbrella outdoor diningThe Cremorne Digital Hub – a physical and virtual hub bringing together business, entrepreneurs, investors, and academia to drive growth across Victoria’s digital ecosystem – located in the heart of Cremorne, has appointed a board to lead its next stage of growth.

International business leader Mark Sims has been named as CEO and prominent corporate executive and investor Monique Conheady will serve as inaugural Chair of the Hub.

Joining them on the board are chief executive of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce Scott Veenker, Founder & CEO of VERSA Agency, Kath Blackham, REA Group Executive, Val Brown, and  co-founder of Artesian and Boab AI, Matthew Clunies-Ross.

The Hub will operate from 80 Balmain St and will deliver a raft of activities and programs to address the digital skills gap, drive innovation and help businesses from all sectors reach their tech potential.

The Hub will also deliver a $50 million Cremorne Venture Fund – to be managed by investment firm and founding partner Artesian – that will invest in exciting new digital companies and take Victorian innovation to the world.

Shareholders Carsales.com, Artesian and Melbourne, RMIT and La Trobe universities will work together on the Hub’s development to boost collaboration between academia and industry.
