Accelerating our manufacturing of electric vehicle components
Victoria’s electric vehicle components manufacturing expertise is being supported by the Victorian Government, helping create dozens of new jobs in the industry.
Nissan Casting Australia is undertaking a $15.5 million expansion of its Dandenong South facility, which will design and manufacture electric vehicle components for Japanese carmaker Nissan’s assembly plants around the world.
“With nearly 40 years of operations in Melbourne’s south-east, this will help us to expand our production of Australian-made electric vehicle components to the global market,” says Peter Jones, Nissan Casting Australia Plant Managing Director.
The investment will create 41 local jobs in engineering, management, and production and allow the company to boost its automation and robotic operations, building Victoria's skills base.
