More support for medtech manufacturers

Two local medtech manufacturers are investing and growing in Victoria, cementing the state’s reputation as a global leader in healthcare innovation while creating around 280 new high skilled jobs.

The Victorian Government is supporting companies Seer Medical and 4D Medical to expand, strengthening our medtech sector.

Seer Medical is being supported to expand its presence and production in Victoria, creating jobs in advanced manufacturing, industrial design, data science and software development.

Seer Medical has established its global headquarters at Melbourne Connect in Carlton and is expanding its artificial intelligence systems and production capability at its North Melbourne facility to enable local manufacturing.

The company makes devices that allow people with neurological disorders, such as epilepsy, to monitor their condition at home like they would in hospital, reducing the need for hospital beds.

4D Medical, also headquartered at Melbourne Connect has been given support by the Victorian Government.

4DMedical‘s technology transforms medical imaging into highly detailed visual maps, including four-dimensional animations, of a patient’s lung when breathing, providing a better understanding of movement and airflow.

Its world-first lung scanning platform - the XV Scanner - combines this unique software with the company's Victorian-designed and manufactured hardware.

The company is expanding its facility in Fisherman’s Bend to include manufacturing alongside research and development, product prototyping and testing.

Victoria’s medtech sector contributes significantly to the state’s economy, generating $21.4 billion in revenue annually.
