Wimmera Mallee to receive 16 new cabins
Victoria’s Wimmera Mallee region will soon bolster its accommodation offering at several locations with a number of overnight cabins set to be delivered.
Thanks to a $3 million investment from the Regional Tourism Investment Fund, the Cabins across the Wimmera Mallee project will allow visitors to easily access the natural and cultural attractions the Grampians region has to offer.
The project will see 16 self-contained cabins built across caravan parks throughout the region.
The cabins will aim to improve the diversity of accommodation options in the area while allowing visitors to remain close to the Wimmera Mallee’s best tourist attractions.
The developments are expected to generate $990,000 in annual accommodation revenue to the Wimmera Mallee and over 15,000 new overnight stays in the region.
The Wimmera Mallee project will also encourage tourists to stay longer and explore the region, while creating a special place for the local community and visitors alike.
The Victorian Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund is helping entice more visitors to Victoria’s regions, driving private investment and accelerating the recovery of the tourism sector.
