Aboriginal economic development

The Dr (Aunty) Mary Atkinson Scholarship Program provides $30,000 per year for up to 4 years. Up to 8 scholarships are funded at any one time to support both undergraduate and postgraduate Victorian Aboriginal students to undertake full-time study in a range of fields related to the portfolio areas of the department.

Outdoor recreation

Recreational Fishing Grants Program

Every year the Victorian Government, through the Recreational Fishing Licence Trust Account, reinvests Recreational Fishing Licence fees into projects to improve recreational fishing in Victoria. Since its inception in 2001, the program has funded over 600 projects, worth more than $21 million throughout Victoria.

Recreational Boating Structural Maintenance and Recreational Boating Access & Dredging Grants Program

The Victorian Government is reinvesting boaters’ licence and registration fees back into projects to improve access and facilities through the Recreational Boating Structural Maintenance and Access and Dredging Grants Programs. Up to $2m is available to ramp managers in order to undertake repairs at boat ramps while up to $1m is on offer for ramp managers to conduct dredging and enable all-tide access.

The Victorian Government provides a number of grants and programs for tourism businesses to support the delivery of Victoria’s renowned and varied tourism destinations.

Trade and investment

Equity Investment Attraction Fund

The Equity Investment Attraction Fund prioritises direct equity investments in high-growth companies of strategic interest to Victoria, which are looking to scale up their business. The fund’s primary focus will be on attracting international or interstate start ups to Victoria.

Governor of Victoria Export Awards (GOVEA)

The Governor of Victoria Export Awards celebrate the innovation and hard work of exporters across a range of sectors including agribusiness, business services, creative industries, digital technologies, e-commerce, education and training, environment, health and biotechnology, manufacturing, minerals, energy and regional development.

Venture Growth Fund

The Victorian Government has committed $25 million to establish the Venture Growth Fund. This fund offers eligible high-growth start ups access to venture credit of between $50,000 and $5 million, helping create jobs and driving economic growth.

Victorian International Education Awards

The Victorian International Education Awards support the international education sector and raise awareness of the sector’s benefits to the broader community and recognise the outstanding accomplishments of the students, staff and institutions that make up Victoria’s thriving international education sector.
